Protect what matters most

About Life Insurance

Life Insurance can help soften the financial impact of death or terminal illness. You and your family can rest easy knowing your policy can help protect the future you've planned.

Life Insurance from NZ Cover Direct pays a lump sum benefit on your death or upon diagnosis of a terminal illness. This financial protection can help your family continue the life you want for them, even if you aren't around. The money can help cover the rent or mortgage, pay school fees or be put towards other major household expenses.

With optional Accident Insurance, an extra lump sum benefit will be paid if the insured suffers an Accidental Serious Injury or Accidental Death.

Applying for cover

Your acceptance is guaranteed as long as you're a New Zealand resident aged 16 to 65.

How it works

Optional covers

Accident Insurance

Accident Insurance may be added to a Life Insurance policy as an optional extra.

Things you should know

Policy exclusions

Before starting your Life Insurance, you should be aware of certain exclusions and conditions when your Life Insurance Benefit(s) will not be paid.

Further exclusions apply if you choose to add Accident Insurance to your cover. For full definitions and explanations of all exclusions, please download the Product Exclusions Brochure or refer to the Policy Wording.

Alternatively you can call us on 0800 894 504.

Premiums stop from age 75

We understand that your insurance needs and budgets change as you get older. That's why from age 75, all Policy exclusions no longer apply, your Life Insurance Benefit will be reduced to $15,000 to help pay for funeral and final expenses, and no further premiums will be payable under the Policy.
